The Big Day – Susan and Chris’ Muttart Conservatory Wedding!

The rain cleared and left us a beautifully sunny day this past Friday. All that glorious sunlight came shining on through the massive windows (are they still called windows when the entire wall is glass?) of the Muttart Conservatory here in Edmonton. These two were a joy to photograph!

The Big Day – Danielle and Vaughan’s Wedding! Part 2 of 2

The outdoor ceremony was so nice!

They had a cool putting game set up and if you sank the putt, the couple had to kiss

It was getting to be a little later in the evening and the sun had just dipped below the horizon. Beth and I couldn’t help but bring Dani and Vaughan outside for a few more shots in the best light of the day!

Then it was time for the first dance.

What a good day. Congrats Dani and Vaughan, we wish you all the best!

The E-Session – Desiree and Adam

We’ve been meaning to go to this particular spot for over a year now! It’s kind of hard to get to and not exactly open to the public…yet, but it’s such a cool place that we knew when we found just the right couple, we had to use it! Desiree and Adam were game and totally rocked this e-session. Check it out!

Adam and Desiree’s wedding is coming up at the end of August and we can’t wait to photograph all the wedding day goodness. Check back here the first week of September for the blog post!

The Big Day – Kevin and Courtney!

Being that Kevin and Courtney live in Texas, the last time we saw them before the week of there wedding was back at Christmas, when we shot their engagement session… and it was somewhere around minus 30 outside. Thankfully things warmed up a little before this past weekend! Their wedding was awesome and it was so cool to see so many people come in from around the world to show their support for the two newly weds.
I seem to have trouble narrowing things down for wedding blog posts lately… so there’s a lot to see! Enjoy.

Every now and then when Beth or myself walks into a completely different lighting situation then where we were before, we occasionally forget to change the settings on our camera before we take the first shot, so one photo might be a bit off in the exposure category. I noticed this “under exposed” shot while going through all the photos and I really liked it! We’ve another version of this photo that’s “properly exposed” but hey… what’s life without a little artistic licence??

After everyone had finished getting ready, it was time for the first look!

Part way through the night, a Ukrainian dance group came out and wowed everybody in attendance. They were SO good! We’ve photographed a lot of East Indian weddings over the years and seen some incredible performances at those, but dang, the Ukrainians now hold top spot for best wedding dance performance over here at Ryan + Beth Photographers!

I think I’ll call this next photograph…. “Mary Poppins”

It was high flying Ukrainian madness!!!

Then it was Kevin and Courtney’s turn to hit the dance floor.

Party on.

The Big Day – Brittany and Adam’s Devon Wedding! (Part 1 of 2)

So it was a little chilly outside the day of Adam and Brittany’s wedding(-25 Celsius with the windchill) but really, if we expected anything less from January in Alberta we’d be kidding ourselves right? We had a really good time hanging out with everyone and photographing such an important day in Brittany and Adam’s lives. There’s lots of great photos to share so this will be a two part-er!

The Big Day: Alyse and Robbie’s Edmonton Wedding!

Wow, what a wedding! On New Years Eve, Beth, our third photographer Mariusz Sikorski and myself had the awesome opportunity to photograph Alyse and Robbie’s wedding day and it was quite incredible, let me tell you(and show you, I guess!).

Robbie and Alyse are such a cool couple, you might remember them from one of our favourite engagement sessions that we shot in the Rockies last year. Here’s them enjoying their big day!

Hey where’s Robbie?

They had some sweet NYE party favours for everyone, as well as a time capsule. I swear they thought of everything…yup, everything.

All of the table names were named after runs at Kimberly Ski Resort, which is where Robbie proposed to Alyse!

You know it’s a good, embarrassing speech when you get a shot like this

Robbie hit the stage and played some tunes (and did a dang good job at it too)!

The Big Day: Morgan and Clayton!

Shooting Morgan and Clayton’s wedding was a bit different for us in that we were only shooting for four hours, but what a great four hours it was! Their wedding was held on a Tuesday just after Christmas so being that our new little guy, Tom was only two weeks old, we hired on the incredible Mariusz Sikorski to shoot along side for the day so we could let Tom hang out with his mommy

I love these kinds of weddings. It was a small, intimate, family-and-close-friends wedding and it was great to have a small part in it! Have a look at some of our favs from the day!
